WHAT IS PROLAN MADE FROM?
Raw lanolin (wool grease) is a natural substance secreted by sheep to provide a protective coating on their fleece for protection in harsh conditions. Once the sheep have been shorn, the fleece undergoes a scouring and refining process to extract the lanolin and to clean the fleece.
At Prolan, we use a specialized process to convert raw wool grease into a range of non-toxic environmentally friendly lubricants that are safe and easy to apply. The range of products is known as “PROLAN” and there are multiple ranges of applications from general industrial lubrication and preservation, to the protection of metals and electronics from corrosion and wear.
WHAT IS PROLAN?
It all started when Matthew Breen moved from a small town in the South Island of New Zealand to Whistler, Canada.
"COMING TO CANADA IT WAS A SHOCK TO SEE SO MANY CARS, TRUCKS AND TRAILERS ALL RUSTING AND CORRODING AWAY. SOME OF THEM WERE BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT."
This inspired the idea to bring Prolan, a well known and established product in New Zealand, Europe and the UK to Canada. This fully sustainable and environmentally friendly product has proven to stop corrosion in those countries, Matt thought ‘‘why not introduce Prolan to North America” which experiences arguably a much harsher environment. Matt has witnessed first hand the resilience Prolan offers to combat harsh corrosive environments. With his Father, Tony Breen, who owns a motorbike shop, has been using Prolan for years as an essential service for his customers quadbikes to prevent saltwater and cattle effluent from rotting the metal frames away.
Matt believes that if we can prevent corrosion and give longevity to peoples’ equipment, together we can stop cars, trucks and trailers going to the scrapyard before they actually need to. This will result in a “win win” for the People, the Planet and the maintenance providers that work under your valuable asset.
